Fulani Herdsmen Attacks Family..Killing Husband And Leaving Wife Injured

On Saturday December 6 in the evening around 6pm, the people of Sekyere Afram Plains in the eastern part of Ghana were hit with a bad news as two Fulani herdsmen attacked Yaw Balamosa and his pregnant wife.

Narrating the story on Peace fm's midday news was Honourable Fuseini Donkor. According to him,the Fulani were friends with the deceased and was served with food upon their arrival at the house.


The attack: According to the wife, one of the man picked a cutlass and attacked the deceased on the back of the neck, he died instantly. Witnessing this horrific scene, the wife running with her little kid was stopped by the other man inflicting cutlass wounds on her,the mother survived and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. After the act the Fulani men took some money and a gun of the deceased giving ghc1 to the oldest of the four children who is 10years old.

Motive for the killing: Apart from other motives to reports, the motive for the attack was that the deceased had sold eighty bags of charcoal the previous day which cost about Ghc800. This was confirmed after one of the attackers was arrested on Monday.
